Let's be honest, folks. Blogging isn't exactly my forte. You won't find me spewing out hot takes or pontificating like some self-proclaimed writing guru. The truth is, I don't take myself that seriously.

But here's the thing: all the experts, organizations, and even my wife (bless her soul) keep hammering on about the importance of a blog for a self-published author like me. Apparently, it's the magic potion for building a fan base and readership.
So, here I am, diving into the blogosphere with a splash (hopefully not a belly flop). Let's talk about my books. I've unleashed seven of them onto the world thus far, each in various stages of "out there" and "gathering dust."

My shining star (the one that still manages to sell a decent amount) is "Uniformly Underserved." It delves into the experiences of Japanese servicemen and the Japanese community in the US during World War II. Maybe there's hope for the rest yet!
The others – "A Thousand Cranes," "Ashes and Memories," the "Harvest of Hunger" trilogy, "Fortune's Retrieval," "Pursuing Shadows," and my newest, "Fangs of Frustration" – all hold a special place in my heart. They have their merits, and occasionally find a reader, but nowhere near the success of "Uniformly Undeserved."

Listen, validation is nice. Seeing my name on a book cover and knowing people are out there reading my words is gratifying. But here's the real kicker: I don't write for the money or fame (although a little wouldn't hurt). Writing is what gives me pleasure.
The process itself, the weaving of ideas and stories into something tangible, brings me joy. And honestly? These stories have to come out somehow. My head is a chaotic symphony of ideas, and writing is my way of conducting them into something resembling order (hopefully).
So, here's the deal. If you, dear reader, are interested in what goes on in this stubborn author's mind, drop me a line at [email address removed]. Consider this blog post a test run. If there's an audience for my ramblings, I might just have to ratchet up the blogging and make it a more regular thing.
Until then, happy reading (and maybe consider checking out my books – especially "Uniformly Undesered," wink wink).
